About Uriel Marín

Uriel Marín was born in Córdoba, Veracruz in southeastern Mexico in 1981, and now lives and works in Oaxaca. While he occasionally works as an illustrator, his focus in on printmaking, particularly silkscreen printing, woodcuts and engraving, through which he produces captivating images that blur the line between traditional and contemporary in both method and expression.

He studied Visual Arts at the University of Veracruz and specialized in printmaking. In 2005 he co-founded two graphic arts collectives in Oaxaca, Mexico. Pata de Perro is dedicated to the production, dissemination and teaching of printmaking. Arte Cocodrilo(now he has seceded) is a collaborative project to promote contemporary Mexican art. Uriel has recently exhibited at 111 Minna Gallery (San Francisco, CA), Multiplied Contemporary Editions Fair ( London, England), Blooom Art Fair (Cologne, Germany), Battersea Park Art Fair, (London, England), Salón Nacional de Gráfica, Museo de la Estampa (Edo. de México), Galería de Arte Contemporáneo (Xalapa, Veracruz), Feria Internacional del Libro (Oaxaca, Mexico) and the University of Houston Clear Lake (Houston, Texas).

HeadSpace is an international artist residency offering artists a chance to experience and be inspired by life in Japan.

Kayamori House and HeadSpace are collaborating to provide artists on the residency programme with a place they can feel at home in, relax, eat, explore, and be creative.

Access information

By Car:
Please meet us at Haibara Station North exit at 11am. We will all drive up the hill from there.

By Train:
- Take the Kintetsu Osaka line to Haibara Station (express stop)
- It’s a short drive up the mountain from the station. We will pick you up in our car.
- We will met you at the North exit of Haibara station at 11am. Please don’t be late!!!
